The R72 filter is a specialized filter used for IR infrared photography that blocks visible light and allows infrared light to pass through. Use filter with film that is Infrared Sensitive. Compensate by opening up approx. 5 f-stops.

How it works
The R72 filter blocks light with a wavelength under 720 nanometers, allowing only infrared light to pass through. This creates an image with deep magenta and reddish color tones.

Black and white (BW) infrared film is a type of film that has special sensitivity to infrared light, allowing the photographer to capture infrared light waves that are normally invisible. The result is a unique look with different tones and contrast, where green foliage appears white.

Tips for using a r72 filter
